Monitoring is more than seeing whether the server is running. A server can run perfectly well while the orders have stopped, last night's import hasn't run, or the invoices aren't being sent. LDS Monitor measures processes, key figures and bottlenecks: things that have happened, things that should have happened, and things there is too much or too little of.
Measure what matters
A sensor can measure almost anything that can be counted or checked. For example:
- Has last night's import run – and did every line make it?
- Are there closed invoices that were never sent?
- Has the number of orders dropped to zero on a Friday afternoon, when it usually goes up?
- Is the tone in customer service emails and calls getting sharper?
- Is the application running – and is it healthy?
How it works
- An agent on each machine being monitored – server, PC or laptop. It keeps an eye on the machine's own state.
- Sensors measure what you decide: key figures, queues, times, tone or something else entirely.
- A dashboard and a wall display show the status of every system and the events that need a person.
- The dashboard also notices when a system stops reporting in. Silence is a signal too.
- Events have a priority and stay put until a person has dealt with them. Repeats are gathered into one line with a count, so the screen doesn't drown.
Your own systems can report in
Your own applications can report status and events straight to the dashboard. For .NET there is the package Monitor.Client, and it only takes a few lines of code.
Price
LDS Monitor costs from €16/month excl. VAT and is billed by the number of agents and sensors. If you use IntegrationHub, monitoring of it is included.
